Latte Love in St. Paul Square

SAN ANTONIO, TX - On July 27th, coffee enthusiasts from all over San Antonio gathered at the Aiden hotel in Historic St. Paul Square to witness an exciting event that showcased both skill and creativity in the coffee community - the 4th Thursday Night Throwdown of 2023. Hosted by Pulp Coffee Roasters and presented by Pulp Coffee & The Aiden, the event featured a Latte Art Throwdown that brought baristas and coffee aficionados together for a night filled with good vibes, great drinks, and friendly competition.

The conference room upstairs at the Aiden hotel buzzed with excitement as local baristas from various coffee shops in San Antonio prepared to showcase their latte art skills. The event created a perfect opportunity for them to support one another, exchange ideas, and push the boundaries of their craft.

Participants were eager to impress the three esteemed judges for the evening. Vinny, the owner of @viceversa.sanantonio, a chic coffee shop with a jazz club in the basement up the street from the venue, was one of the judges, bringing his experience and love for coffee culture to the table. The second judge was Victoria, the reigning TNTSATX title champion, and a key figure in the specialty coffee scene in SATX, known for their passion and contributions to the community at @meritcoffee. The third judge, Michael, a latte art wizard and action figure aficionado, has been a driving force behind the success of @sanantoniogold, ensuring the coffee party never stops.

Throughout the night, the competition was fierce, and the audience was treated to a visual feast of latte art masterpieces coming to life in each cup. Baristas poured their hearts into creating intricate patterns and designs, turning simple lattes into works of art.

Besides the captivating latte art, the event offered a vibrant ambiance with music playing in the background, delightful food options, and an opportunity to connect with like-minded coffee enthusiasts. Attendees also had the chance to savor various coffee creations and other beverages, provided they were 21 years or older.

The camaraderie among the baristas was evident as they encouraged each other, cheering on their competitors, and showcasing the supportive nature of San Antonio's coffee community. The event emphasized not just the competition but also the celebration of coffee culture and the talent within the local barista community.

As the Latte Art Throwdown concluded, the winners were announced, and they were rewarded with impressive prizes to recognize their skills and dedication. But the true victory of the evening lay in the friendships forged, the shared passion for coffee, and the strengthening of the vibrant coffee community in San Antonio.

The 4th Thursday Night Throwdown at the Aiden hotel was an outstanding success, and it left everyone eagerly anticipating the next event that would undoubtedly bring even more baristas and coffee enthusiasts together to celebrate the love for coffee and art in the heart of San Antonio.
